2013 Stars & Stripes 5K

The Concord Police Association is honored to present our 4th Annual Stars & Stripes 5K Run & Walk that benefits our community & the Monument Crisis Center on Thursday, July 4th!  The race has been growing each year with over 500 participants in 2012's race!   We are looking forward to having over 600 participants this year running and walking a new 3.1 mile route that you are sure to enjoy!  Your entry fee includes a goody bag with  great freebies, gift certificates, coupons and a Brenden Theaters movie ticket for each 5K participant!  You will also receive a race t-shirt with a cool patriotic design! (we are also offering dri-fit race shirts in lieu of the standard cotton race shirts for an extra $10.00.)

We have prizes too!  Top Male & Female finishers receive Roadrunner Sports shoe certificates valued at $120, 2nd & 3rd place finishers receive Sports Basement gift cards, there are age group winner medals for the men & ladies and a even a special Trader Joe's goody bag for our top male & female finishers over 40!    

Entry fee is $25.00 postmarked/or on-line by June 1st, $30.00 postmarked by June 26th or until June 30th at 7pm on-line.  We will also be doing in person registration at packet picket up, Wednesday, July 3rd from 3pm-7pm at the Concord Police Department Community Meeting Room entrance off the main parking lot, 1350 Galindo St. in Concord.   Race shirts are not guaranteed after June 30th.

The festivities start at 7:30am with day of registration and goody bag pick up, music and freebies from our vendors. The FREE Kids Fun Run sponsored by Sports Basement, Sky High Sports and Chili's will be held at 8:15am followed by the 5K at 8:30am. Our own home baseball team mascot, Stomper the Elephant from the Oakland A's will be on hand to visit with the kids, pose for photos and start off both races, greeting the kids as they cross the finish line for the Kid's Fun Run.

We will have 2 water stops/aid stations on the course at miles 1 &2 and a slew of delicious and refreshing post-race goodies at the finish. After the race, enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast hosted by Concord-Diablo Rotary for $5.00 until 11am or hot dog lunch and grab a spot to watch Concord's entertaining 4th of July Parade, complete with floats, bands, equestrian & dance teams and more!

The Jubilee will also be going on in Todos Santos Park with patriotic musical entertainment, vendors booths and food/drink for sale.
